Captain is Back!!

A ship solemnly drops coffins overboard, waiting for the sea to reclaim its own. Bobbing on water a while before they sink, the coffins are a macabre sight. Alighting on one, the black bird curiously hammers its beak repeatedly, a woodpecker-like rat-a-tat. Rat-a-tat. And then, rat-a-boom, it suddenly explodes in a flurry of feathers and gunpowder.
An arm peeks out of a hole in the coffin, periscoping around with a pistol in case of sudden danger. The wood makes way for a disheveled Johnny Depp. As he breaks off a skeletal leg from his deceased coffin-mate (thankfully off-screen) a rush of gleeful thrill runs through the audience: Captain Jack Sparrow is back.

This is strange...honestly i failed in understanding this....A few days after seven blasts on Mumbai's suburban trains killed about 200 people, the telecom department directed all the 150 operational Internet Service Providers to block 18 Web sites, citing an increase in hate messages on the Internet.
well...there are other ways to communicate or spread hate messages....why the blogs?!

and yes...they haven't blocked the posting from Blogger.com...they blocked blogspot.!!??

10K

Cant believe this piece of machine on two wheels completed 10 tousand kms on road today!..it feels like yesterday i was on a rickshaw slowly moving towards the showroom to buy it. Time surely flies!! well...after almost 10 months and countless hours and as i mentioned 10K kms on road it still raises hell on the black tarmac! This surely calls for a celebration!!will do that!!

So Far...So Good

Completed 4 months here in Copal!!well.....looking at my career history it will be interesting to see what happens in next two months....generally something big happens....changes..improvements..etc..etc!! But after 4 months ....and an average of 10+ hours per day and 2 well done freaky projects.....it looks good so far. Looking forward to coming months....but really...that average of 10+ never looks like coming down!!

Sometime you feel that you have skipped quite a many years in between..or you lost those years somewhere.....!!thats how i felt when i met an old friend ...friend from my school days....and i met him for the first time after school. Was one of my best buddies...but somehow down the lane lost touch...!!But when i met him.....never felt like am talking to him after almost 10 years...!!felt like somebody fast forwarded the time in between!!......we talked the way we used to talk at that time.....had few pints..ok quite a few pints ..and caught the game of england vs portugal in a pub. ..(worst way of crashing out man!!penalty shootouts!!)enjoyed the time.........may be those years were actually not lost!!...I dont know....seriously!!

Downloaded and tried The new Firefox 1.5 on my thinkpad R50e. There is something about it .......it is quick and the new tabbed interface and the special search box with the facility to add any engine to it makes it more time saving and efficient. Rocking!!

4th Generation

The promos are finally coming online....the 4th generation (based on my knowledge) Bajaj Pulsar is ready to hit the roads. DTS-Fi is the word this time around. There are many modifications as expected. twin discs, front gets a hayabusa look, oil cooler, two level seats, tubeless tyres, LED tail lamp, and chain guard has become more sporty, the rear lower mud guard is out and wheel base looks a bit extended giving the machine more balance and a more sporty look. The factor to watch out for will be its price.

and then i went through the anticipation ratings of the games on XBOX 360.....Quake 4 gets 4 out of 5..impressive again!!
Most, if not all, of the world’s greatest game creators have signed up for Xbox 360. Microsoft finally nailed Squaresoft and ongoing support from 2K Games (GTA, etc) is a sure sign of great things to come.

Honestly ..i will not mind going for a 360....but i would like to wait for more user opinions!!

Went back in time......
Stroggs..super shot guns....frags....makron...xero..sarge.....that frantic movement of mouse...dodging the bullets and rockets..that feeling after a victory....miss those gaming days....would love to get some of it back...but that needs time....and its a bonus if i find time even for myself!!
Its amazing how technology outplays us....its like few days back we were fragging each other in Quake 3....its like yesterday Quake 4 was released....and today Quake 5 is ready to go..!!Unreal!!
I know not many gaming freaks are out there.....but for me it goes back to the Quake and Quake 2 days that i started playing on my brother's Titanic PC.

another boring weekend passed by..!! am really in a bad mood...planned a road trip....needed at least 3 days off for that...saturday and sunday included i needed one more day but i wasnt's allowed to take a day off....!!so the trip went down the drain..big time!! Break In

"Break-In" sounds like forcing your way into something. But its the term used very frequently around the bikers fret. Its the way of doing few things like maintaining a certain speed for a certain number of kilometers etc, keeping the rpms low etc..etc with a new engine (The uncomfortable and irritating way). Its been an eventful and happening 8 months here in gurgaon. I am still not clear what made me choose gurgaon..why not Bangalore, or Hyderabad or even Mumbai or Pune..!!May be some kind of inner instinct...or a..."Gut Feeling"..was involved.Whatever it was it is working so far..!!And my "Gut Feeling" ..is not letting me down nowadays(touch wood)!..Lessons learned?..there are quite few of them....like:

--There is nothing called "Preparation" for an interview! You just can't...!!What you say on that particular day and that particular hour decides about "In" or "Out". If you prepare for some questions..they will never be asked...!!

--The most popular and the most important and the most boring question ever is "Tell us something about yourself!?"

--Always stick to the skill set you enjoy working and speacialize in....a small start of the career with that skill set is much better than having a big start but with a skill set you really never expected to work on!! in due course you will start to lag! Its like the slog overs in a one day match.. first 15 overs generally set the match up!

--There is nothing called "Trying your best"! Remember what Nike says "Just Do It!".

--Whatever the status of the project is ..it should be properly documented! Those documents are what your senior looks for!

--Never loose track of the backend... you should remember the structure the way you know the route back to your home!

--Be ready for any challenge... never say "no" to a given task!!

--Logic matters.....syntax is like shifting your home to a new place!!

--Long hours spent in the office count for nothing if result is not proportional to it!...Being in office before everyone and leaving after everyone can show that you are not capable enough!

--Remember the word "Professional" ...you are being paid to do the job....never take the job personally!

--use the whiteboard on your desk..its the best place to set "reminders".

--keep the desk clean and tidy..a messy desk does not show that you are too busy. There are busier people around with a much cleaner desk.

--Keep your eyes and ears open......thats the best way of learning new things.

--Communication matters!!...being a professional is like selling yourself! remember the door-to-door salesperson.....that person always has the best product in town...at least thats how he/she presents it!!

--There is nothing called a "Secure Job"... remember the terms and conditions document you signed on joining day....they can terminate your job one fine morning...and they are not supposed to explain ...!!

--Having no work to do in office is lethal!!

--Flying high and thinking big is harmless as long as you remember in which direction the runway is and how to land?!!

--Network nicely.....remember..the person sitting next to you can be your future boss..!!

--follow the dress code ...there is a reason behind it!!

One of the most beautiful thing to happen in a day..is the sunrise. In winters generally sunrise is quite late so am mostly on my way to office at that time and someone suddenly lights up the highway.

Its something new for me...i have been thinking alot lately..thats quite unlike me....!! its not like that i have a problem...its just when i think of future and career ahead...all kind of thoughts cover my mind!! Work is no issue for me....have been performing well at work and the effort is being appreciated by the seniors..plus i have the domain and the technology that i like and i always wanted to work on......may be its a feeling of dissatisfaction.....may be i will have to move on to the bigger challenges...!! lets wait n watch....

Went to see "Zinda" this sunday......
all i can say is that its Sanju baba's movie....besides that it has been rated "A" for the violence and bloodshed...!!I liked it....but the fact is not everyone can stand that movie...too violent at times.!!

The Soundrack is amazing...and i simply love the track "Yeh hai meri kahani"!!....
A must watch movie for strong hearted people!!

Christmas

Celebrated Christmas in my own way....decorated my room a bit!!..really a bit....!!got a star and tucked it up near the front door :-)!!.....bought a cake and some pudding.......pudding was yummy.....cake was not that yummy(half of it is still there, what else is needed to prove it!)....... then me and my room mate had a "south indian" lunch..that was really good...and then a movie.....we decided on "King Kong".....not bad....not bad at all!!.......it was sunday + christmas so as expected it was over crowded everywhere.......the worst part of an "over- crowded" situation is to look for a parking space for a bike!! ..somehow..someway managed to get one!!.....well..there were more traffic woes..but i better not start mentioning them here!!.....anyways.. .."Merry Christmas" to all those people whom i know...and to those too whom i dont know!!......

Went to see "Ek Ajnabee".....well....havent seen "Man On Fire"...so for me it was awesome.....was initially thinking of having a goo at "Bluffmaster"..but me n my friend decided on "Ek Ajnabee"..not a bad decision at all "Brother"!!........was fun....soundtrack is fantastic....and yea....how can i forget that......

3 Months

This morning..when i was sipping my hot cup of coffee i realised something.......went back 3 months and saw myself sitting in the train to New Delhi..then in the cab to Gurgaon...lot was happening at that point of time in my mind....had no idea what will happen in future.....wished myself luck....and told myself to try my best.....took me one whole month of uncertainty and lot of self motivation until i got a job...........
now i have completed 3 months away from home....my dear ones.....it has been quite a journey so far.......i miss home.....miss mom....miss dad...everyone..!!....its just the begining..still there is lot to achieve..and a long way to go...hoping to do some real fine job!!

A Blow

Microsoft Chief Technical Officer Craig Mundie on a recent visit to India served a blow on our pride.......he said...

Industrialist and aviator Vijaypat Singhania on Saturday became the first man to fly at 69,852(almost 70,000) feet above sea level in a hot air balloon, thereby breaking the world record of 64,997 feet, set by Per Lindstrand, in June 1988, in Texas.



Its a brave effort..but an effort worth at least a salute..!!

Food

hmm....one of my favourite topics...."Food"......its been quite a while since i last had the "Candy's" wala Pizza.......so decided to try out "Pizza Hut" with a friend........had a medium size chicken tikka freshizza......honestly ....i failed to find any difference between a normal pizza...and
a freshizza!!....but it was good anyways.....and had pasta "curry" with it.....well ..thats the way we deal with "phoren maal"...we indianise it!!........but hey....it was good too!!!
umm...sorry......u cant see them in the pic......was busy eating them.....Lemonade can be seen!!

A Song

Came across a really good song lately....its from the movie "Cholcolate" ...song's title is .."halka halka sa yeh nasha"......there are a couple of lines in it that really strike you when u listen to it....they go like...
kyon bhala sapno ke picche
dil mera apno ke pitche khota hain
khwaahishein aawaara banke
toot jaaye tara banke hota hain
..listened to the remix of the song and its a really fine fusion of typical Bhangra tunes and some really fast beats...do listen to it.....its cool!!

umm....there is one strange word used very frequently around NCR....."khmocha".....generally its used when a person doesnt listen to you or doesnt obey you...they say.."chal isse khmoche mein lete hain"!!......
waise wat actually it means??....anyone with a good NCR IQ??

About Morning

Isn't it strange..?You spend a whole day solving a problem and you end up with nothing at the end of the day...but then...the very next morning it takes only 5 minutes to solve that problem!..
What in the blue hell was wrong with the previous morning??!!

Jam on NH-8

ok......thats a familiar phrase "Jam on NH-8"..but today i realised a fact about jams. Its all in the mind....if you consider the jam as one of the obstacles on the journey to the destiny......thats ofcourse nowadays is either the office or the home, your gonna find a way out! but when you take it as a "oh-man-another-damn-trafiic-jam"...its gonna be tough!!....well...thats quite close to the problem we face in daily life!!...its all in the mind...attitude...it does matter!!

well..once in a while there is no harm in sounding like a philosopher!!right?

New one

ok...so after some really inspiring words from a very good friend of mine guru, i decided to update my blog..ok what next after the dilli marathon...umm.....got the 2nd free service done on my bike....and hey...got a new phone.....a Nokia 6630.........yaay!!!!!!!..guru......i have 30 more over you!!hehe...!!

ok...dilli goes the fast way again!!cuts down a marathon...The Half Marathon! yaar..if u dont want to do it then its of no use cutting it short....!!.....asked a friend abt it ....the conversation went like this...
me: yaar wats this half marathon?
friend: umm.....marathon done in half clothes!!
me: wat?..
friend: thats delhi dude!
....
wonder wats next.....a half Formula 1 Grand Prix??!!

Quake!!

That was a terrible day....i was in my room going through the newspaper and suddenly i felt like the house is swinging..well it was not a wild swing...but the feeling was the same as getting drunk!!....it was an earth quake and i realized it when a friend of mine called up sounding quite excited and asked...Did u feel it ..?? i dont have a TV right now but when i went out in the afternoon and saw the footage on TV in a cafe...the pictures were shocking!!...it was quite mild here in haryana....but it has surely rocked our kashmir and the neighbour pakistan!!......our heart goes out for the victims!!....may god help them!!

Work! Dude Work!

hmm...so i have a job.....the one i really wanted to do!!......The workplace is nice...the team is rocking and the work environment is friendly!!...There is one problem.......well...i have to get rid of the habit of calling a senior by "sir" ...they really hate it....!!am afraid someday i'll get bashed up by one of them!!hehe....but thats not a big task to do..will get rid of it....!!The real challenge is lying ahead.....a really rocking project and some new things to learn!!...hey...no complains about hard work!!

Hey....finally got the opening that i needed....joined my first proper job yesterday......its a good company....people are fine and helpful.....it was fun on my first day!!....I guess its performance time now!!Will try my best!
