Schumacher

I wouldnt call myself a huge fan of this guy...but his driving has been the USP of F1 arena. You think of F1 and you imagine Schumacher roaring past in his red beast!...Didnt see the Japanese GP but read about it and it is really unfortunate that he has to leave the track in smokes! The engine gave up..he didnt!...after all we are talking about freaking engines that win races..and blow up too!! Not his fault...

Funny one..

Found this on a fellow blogger rearset's post....cant help reposting it...!!

Top ten lessons from the film Top Gun

1. Spilling coffee on the boss' shirt can be fun

2. Ray-Bans can be worn EVERYWHERE

3. Scare enemies by appearing suddenly above them upside down

4. Swirling towels constitute assault with a wetly weapon

5. You're allowed real funky handshakes on the decks of aircraft carriers

6. Daft call signs are cooler than really daft names

7. Val Kilmer was very upset at how popular Tom Cruiser became after the film

8. Kawasakis are faster than Porsches

9. Sort out any issues with/about your dad before getting in an expensive machine

10. You'll never be as cool as the enemy until the end of the film

and someone added the 11th one...

11. Group singing gets the girl!!

Looking back...

Completed a whole year out here in Gurgaon! Cant believe i survived one full year here!Honestly i never thought that i will be able to survive even 6 months.....but i guess i learnt the trick of survival quite quickly!..
Has been an eventful year....learnt many things.....and that also the "hard way"! speacially the last few months.....they have been painful....but took it as a lesson! It is not about "survival of the fittest"..its about "survival of the smartest".!! There has been some ugly memories ..and some beutiful ones too..made some amazing friends.....found some long lost friends..!!..It's just been an year...but looks like a long journey...Started last year from Score....finishing it with Copal...and will be starting this year with Sapient..!!Knwoledge wise..learnt alot..again the "Hard Way"..but that has given me more confidence...other rewards are bonus!
Really couldn't have done this without the support from my loved ones..my family!they execused me for many things....!mom sometimes thinks i have forgotten her..sorry mom...there were times when i thought i have forgotten about even myself!!miss you! miss everyone..dad..bro....everyone.!!

Captain is Back!!

A ship solemnly drops coffins overboard, waiting for the sea to reclaim its own. Bobbing on water a while before they sink, the coffins are a macabre sight. Alighting on one, the black bird curiously hammers its beak repeatedly, a woodpecker-like rat-a-tat. Rat-a-tat. And then, rat-a-boom, it suddenly explodes in a flurry of feathers and gunpowder.
An arm peeks out of a hole in the coffin, periscoping around with a pistol in case of sudden danger. The wood makes way for a disheveled Johnny Depp. As he breaks off a skeletal leg from his deceased coffin-mate (thankfully off-screen) a rush of gleeful thrill runs through the audience: Captain Jack Sparrow is back.

Awesome!!
Caught Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man''s Chest on the weekend..i would say it is awesome if you can handle some really ugly pirates....devy jones...the black pearl...the flying dutchman..and captain jack sparrow.......this one should never be missed!!

Blocked!!

This is strange...honestly i failed in understanding this....A few days after seven blasts on Mumbai's suburban trains killed about 200 people, the telecom department directed all the 150 operational Internet Service Providers to block 18 Web sites, citing an increase in hate messages on the Internet.
well...there are other ways to communicate or spread hate messages....why the blogs?!

and yes...they haven't blocked the posting from Blogger.com...they blocked blogspot.!!??

.NET Framework 3.0

WinFX is now Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0! The good news is that the It combines the power of .NET Framework 2.0 with new technologies for building applications that have a visually compelling user experience, seamless communication across technology boundaries, and support for a wide range of business processes. Microsoft plans to ship .NET Framework 3.0 as part of Windows Vista. At the same time, Microsoft will make .NET Framework available for Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1. There are new components as part of the System namspace, WPF, WF, WCF, and CardSpace.

WPF-Windows Presentation Foundation (formerly code-named "Avalon")
WCF-Windows Communication Foundation (formerly code-named "Indigo")
WF -Windows Workflow Foundation (WF)
Windows CardSpace (formerly code-named "InfoCard")

.NET Framework 3.0 adds new technologies to the .NET Framework 2.0, which makes the .NET Framework 3.0 a superset of the .NET Framework 2.0. We can think of .NET Framework 3.0 as an "additive" release to the .NET Framework 2.0, as contrasted with a generational release where software is revised across the board. (For example, the .NET Framework 2.0 was a generational release over the .NET Framework 1.0.)

cant wait to try it out....!!and i have heard that Windows CardSpace is really freaky!!

4th Generation

The promos are finally coming online....the 4th generation (based on my knowledge) Bajaj Pulsar is ready to hit the roads. DTS-Fi is the word this time around. There are many modifications as expected. twin discs, front gets a hayabusa look, oil cooler, two level seats, tubeless tyres, LED tail lamp, and chain guard has become more sporty, the rear lower mud guard is out and wheel base looks a bit extended giving the machine more balance and a more sporty look. The factor to watch out for will be its price.

Visiting 360

Was going through the features of the new XBOX 360 from Microsoft. It is quite impressive:

** Three symmetrical IBM cores running at 3.2GHz each; two hardware threads per core; six hardware threads total

** 500 MHz custom ATI graphics processor; 10MB of embedded DRAM and 48-way parallel floating-point dynamically scheduled shader pipelines; unified shader architecture

** 512MB of GDDR3 RAM memory; 700MHz of DDR; unified memory architecture

** 1 teraflop of overall system floating-point performance

** All games supported in high definition at 16:9, 720p and 1080i, anti-aliasing

** Standard definition and high definition video output supported

** Instant, free, out-of-the-box access to Xbox Live:Marketplace on Xbox Live for
downloadable contentGamer profile for digital identityVoice and video messages – even voice chat while watching movies or listening to music

** Ability to stream media from portable music devices, digital cameras and Windows XP PCsRip your music to the Xbox 360 Hard Drive and listen to your custom playlistsBuilt-in Windows Media Center Extender

** Support for DVD-Video, DVD-ROM, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, CD-DA, CD-ROM, CD-R, CD-RW, Windows Media Audio CD, MP3 CD and JPEG photo CD

I guess it is not just about gaming....it is about almost everything!

and then i went through the anticipation ratings of the games on XBOX 360.....Quake 4 gets 4 out of 5..impressive again!!
Most, if not all, of the world’s greatest game creators have signed up for Xbox 360. Microsoft finally nailed Squaresoft and ongoing support from 2K Games (GTA, etc) is a sure sign of great things to come.

Honestly ..i will not mind going for a 360....but i would like to wait for more user opinions!!

Days...

Went back in time......
Stroggs..super shot guns....frags....makron...xero..sarge.....that frantic movement of mouse...dodging the bullets and rockets..that feeling after a victory....miss those gaming days....would love to get some of it back...but that needs time....and its a bonus if i find time even for myself!!
Its amazing how technology outplays us....its like few days back we were fragging each other in Quake 3....its like yesterday Quake 4 was released....and today Quake 5 is ready to go..!!Unreal!!

I know not many gaming freaks are out there.....but for me it goes back to the Quake and Quake 2 days that i started playing on my brother's Titanic PC.

Different Expressions...

After countless kilometers on road on my bike and listening to countless types of honk tones. Somehow in a very funny manner i have categorized them.....
sweet little honk: "I am here!"
a desparate honk: "C'mon dude what wud u take to get out of my way"
a musical honk: "am cool!am cool!...cant u see am cool!"
really angry(trying to overtake) : oi jackass, whay the f have u not checked your bloody mirror after i switched my bleeding lights on?’
serious ones (of a big container truck passing by): "you dont want to get crushed by me..do you?and you are giving me way..aren't you??"
a lound honk of a bike around midnight on an empty road: "Man i can honk!!...Yeeeeeeeehaw......i can honk!!"

Break In

"Break-In" sounds like forcing your way into something. But its the term used very frequently around the bikers fret. Its the way of doing few things like maintaining a certain speed for a certain number of kilometers etc, keeping the rpms low etc..etc with a new engine (The uncomfortable and irritating way). Well...surprisingly the best way is running your bike hard (the most welcomed way!!)!! found this interesting link about it!! "Warm-up" is the word i guess!!

A Letter

Found this somewhere down the lane while going through different blogs. Its a letter from a Bike Magazine posted on that blog. I am putting it here (with thanks to Rearset a fellow blogger). It goes like:

Winter Bliss

December 2005, 11:15am, dull and cold, I'm painting my fence. I hear a bike wail down the bypass. Sod this! 11:26am in my kit, bike on driveway. Three hours, one tank of unleaded later I'm back with big grin and dirty, salty bike. Bliss.

Ben Langley, Lincolnshire

One heartfelt letter!!

Lesson

If you fell off your bike, you might have done something, or you didn't!!

Learning

Its been an eventful and happening 8 months here in gurgaon. I am still not clear what made me choose gurgaon..why not Bangalore, or Hyderabad or even Mumbai or Pune..!!May be some kind of inner instinct...or a..."Gut Feeling"..was involved.Whatever it was it is working so far..!!And my "Gut Feeling" ..is not letting me down nowadays(touch wood)!..Lessons learned?..there are quite few of them....like:

--There is nothing called "Preparation" for an interview! You just can't...!!What you say on that particular day and that particular hour decides about "In" or "Out". If you prepare for some questions..they will never be asked...!!

--The most popular and the most important and the most boring question ever is "Tell us something about yourself!?"

--Always stick to the skill set you enjoy working and speacialize in....a small start of the career with that skill set is much better than having a big start but with a skill set you really never expected to work on!! in due course you will start to lag! Its like the slog overs in a one day match.. first 15 overs generally set the match up!

--There is nothing called "Trying your best"! Remember what Nike says "Just Do It!".

--Whatever the status of the project is ..it should be properly documented! Those documents are what your senior looks for!

--Never loose track of the backend... you should remember the structure the way you know the route back to your home!

--Be ready for any challenge... never say "no" to a given task!!

--Logic matters.....syntax is like shifting your home to a new place!!

--Long hours spent in the office count for nothing if result is not proportional to it!...Being in office before everyone and leaving after everyone can show that you are not capable enough!

--Remember the word "Professional" ...you are being paid to do the job....never take the job personally!

--use the whiteboard on your desk..its the best place to set "reminders".

--keep the desk clean and tidy..a messy desk does not show that you are too busy. There are busier people around with a much cleaner desk.

--Keep your eyes and ears open......thats the best way of learning new things.

--Communication matters!!...being a professional is like selling yourself! remember the door-to-door salesperson.....that person always has the best product in town...at least thats how he/she presents it!!

--There is nothing called a "Secure Job"... remember the terms and conditions document you signed on joining day....they can terminate your job one fine morning...and they are not supposed to explain ...!!

--Having no work to do in office is lethal!!

--Flying high and thinking big is harmless as long as you remember in which direction the runway is and how to land?!!

--Network nicely.....remember..the person sitting next to you can be your future boss..!!

--follow the dress code ...there is a reason behind it!!

this is the most crazy one.....

--talk to yourself.....it works!!
......

there are so many of them......endless!!.....The key is....remembering each and every one of them on each step of the career!!
